Lemon Grass Tea
Lemon grass tea, also known as lemon grass tisane, is often prepared by pouring hot water over lemon grass leaves (you can use dry lemon grass leaves, but fresh lemon grass leaves are said to have the best results) and letting it steep for a while. If you wish for it to be a bit sweeter, then be sure to add a smidgen of honey to the concoction. If you wish for it to have a better aroma, sprinkle in a bit of Italian oregano. Lemon grass tea, as is the case with most herbal teas, surely take a lot of getting used to in terms of flavor – not because it tastes bad, but because it tastes different. Having said that, however, it has been generally agreed upon that lemon grass tea is good for your health. For example, a person suffering from asthma may nurse a cup of fresh lemon grass tea over an hour or two and find that he or she would not have any major attacks for about a week. Give a feverish child half a cup of lemon grass, and his or her fever will subside in a matter of hours. Some doctors even advise their cancer patients to drink fresh lemon grass tea for a few weeks while they are receiving chemotherapy or radiation treatment. So why not try a little bit for yourself?
